I recently accepted a retail management internship with Dillard’s. I will be doing it this summer. This was a very long process. First I applied for the same internship at Nordstrom. Instead, they offered me a sales position. They were considering giving me the internship next year. The sales position did not go well. Because it was commission based, it was a very hostile, competitive environment. I was accused of stealing other people’s sales. Eventually, Nordstrom forced me to resign, not acknowledging the amazing sales that I had.
During Christmas break, I worked at Dillard’s. It has no commission and is a much friendlier environment. Everybody worked as a team. I liked it so much that I applied for their retail management internship. It was difficult when the person in charge of it left. I had to fill out my application and be interviewed all over again! I completed the process again and was offered the job last week. I can’t wait to start!

There are lots of songs that came out in 2017 that I love. The kind of music I usually listen to is pop. To list a few: Shape of You by Ed Sheeran, Caroline by Amine, Under the Bridge by Adele, Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande, and Say It by Tove Lo. I usually listen to these songs on Pandora. It is an app you can download on your phone. I listen to Pandora when I exercise. I usually exercise in the DSAC. On the third floor there is a track and I walk around that.
My Spring break was pretty good! I got to relax at home while drinking lots of tropical beverages! I took the GRE so that I can apply for grad school. I’m really glad to have gotten that over with. In fact, I just returned the 5lb book I used to study back to the library today. Returning it felt really good, a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders! This week I was offered the retail management internship at Dillard’s. This was a very long and stressful process. The person in charge of it had left and I had to go through the process of applying and being interviewed all over again! Had I not got this internship I would have a very serious problem!! I would have to go through the strenuous process of finding something else!!!!!
I’m really glad that from now on I can just focus on my studies and that’s it.

Finally! Spring Break! Is it just me or was Spring Break very much needed? It feels like Winter Break was forever ago, but that is not the point of this post. What am I going to be doing? Well, I will be decompressing for a day and then it’s time to get to work. I will be working on and improving my projects that I am currently working on. I have some new ideas currently cooking and I am in the process of drawing out blueprints, prototypes, etc. For what exactly? I am not going to disclose that information. Who knows, you may see & use it in the future! Time will tell. Until next time guys, stay classy!

Passion. What am I passionate about? Well, first and foremost, the project that I have with the Fortune 500 company. On top of that, I have come up with an idea that I think will become a massive hit! And yes, that is the entrepreneur in me talking… It will not matter if I have a development team or if I will be a one man show. I see potential in the software that I am developing. At this current time, I will not disclose any information about the second idea mentioned previously. I personally feel that the software that I am currently developing will help people become more efficient from both a business perspective, and also from a personal perspective as well. And I am not afraid of failure. I have failed several times, so now, the failure does not bother me. I see it as a learning experience. I think Thomas Edison said it best when he said, “If I find 10,000 ways something won’t work, I haven’t failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward.” Until next time guys, stay classy!
