Hi everyone! This is our last time together for the fall semester of 2016; can you believe it? This has got to be the fastest semester that I have ever had to experience. I could have swore that just yesterday was Welcome Week back in August! But I hope everyone enjoyed their fall semester! I know that mine was most definitely crazy, but also fantastic at the same time!

My semester I felt was pretty great because of my new job, meeting new people, and as always making new memories with the people that I love. My new job only enhanced to the great semester because even though a job is a job, mine was a large stress reliever. I work at the After Care program at Central Christian School, so I am lucky enough to work with some pretty great kids 3-4 days a week! I am so grateful to have a job that I actually enjoy.

Meeting new people is also always a plus, and this year I met so many new people that I consider great friends. This was my first semester as a WING leader for orientation, and I met multiple new faces that I love seeing everyday! (Shoutout to my Blue Whales for being such a great first team! Love all you guys 💙🐳) I just enjoy getting to know people, even those I knew last year, but got closer to this semester because our times just clicked.

Making new memories with people I love is possibly the best because we now have new things to look back and reminisce on. Coming to Fontbonne required me to make a whole new group of friends because not a lot of people from my high school came here. So all of my new friends that I have made in my year and a half at Fontbonne, I thank you for being my friend because you have enhanced my time at Fontbonne and are one of the MANY reasons I keep coming back after each semester.

Thank you everyone for reading my blogs this semester, and I hope you all finish strongly! We’ve only got a week and a half left!

peace out ✌️

Morgan

Hello all!! Welcome back once again, Griffin Nation! This week I’m talking about what Fontbonne means to me. I’m proud to be a Griffin because of how many leadership opportunities it has given me. Fontbonne continues to impress me with all of the new things that I can get involved in. When I first came to campus, I was a little timid to get myself involved because I had no clue of what any of this entailed. But now I feel like I have a never-ending list of organizations to say that I’m apart of. I can also say doors keep opening in my benefit for new leadership opportunities, and I will forever be grateful for this.

Fontbonne also inspires me to be the leader that I never knew that I could be. I am much more involved in college than I ever was in high school, and I never would have expected that because I felt like I was shy and closed people off. But I learned and grew to realize that leadership is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I have been a member of FAB’s (Fontbonne Activities Board) executive board, a member of Fontbonne’s Dance Marathon’s Morale Committee, and a WING leader this past orientation season. I loved being a part of all of these different leadership opportunities because they have all helped me grow in the areas that I needed the most improvement with to be a better leader. I wouldn’t change my leadership experience for anything and it can only get better from here!

Thank you all again, and see you next week!

Hello Future and Current Fonties!!

I wanted to let you know a little bit about myself! I wrote for this blog last semester and it was a great experience that I wanted to try again.

I am 18 years old, 19 in April. I am from a family of 6, a mom and a dad, two older brothers and a twin sister.

I am the proud owner of a puggle named Gus.

I went to high school at St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon, MO and I live in Saint Peters, MO.

I am a second semester freshman at Fontbonne. My major is fashion merchandising and I am considering adding another major or maybe a minor, so let me know if you have an suggestions.

I have always enjoyed writing and with the stressful life of a full-time college student and working after school, I do not always have the time to write, so this blog gives me a chance!

Why I am Proud to be a Griffin?

I am proud to be a Griffin because of a multitude of reasons. Fontbonne’s strong Catholic roots and excellent academic and athletic programs encouraged me to find my home away from home at Fontbonne University. From the friendly faculty and staff, to the familiar faces around campus, Fontbonne made me feel at home the day I stepped onto campus. With the small class sizes and willing faculty, Fontbonne made my transition from high school to college smoother than I could have ever imagined, with the help of the amazing admission team, WING Leaders, and Griffin 101 leaders. I am proud to be a Griffin because of the high moral standards and overall expectations that everyone is expected to meet once they have been accepted into Fontbonne. The community and it’s outpouring of love is another reason I fell in love with being a Griffin. I could not imagine my collegiate experiences being something other than a Fontbonne University Griffin!

I am also a WING Leader for this coming year! (Orientation Leader) Being involved on campus has made my Fontbonne experience wonderful! Although there are long days, there is nothing else I would want to be doing! All of my successes are due to me stepping out of my comfort zone and moving four hours away! I found Fontbonne because of their Deaf Education program. I came into Fontbonne knowing no one but I will be leaving Fontbonne with lifetime friends and memories! My advice to you is to leave your comfort zone when choosing a college or university because it will be an amazing experience!

xoxo, McKinley
