St. Louis Blues

It’s hard to believe that the holiday season came and went so quickly. It’s even harder to imagine that I’m finally back in school working through my final semester of my undergraduate education. Before we jump right in to the semester, though, I’d like to share some of my favorite photographical memories from this past winter break.

Posing for a picture with Dad and Cocoa Dixie before opening presents on Christmas morning!!

Gearing up for the 2014 Cardinals Baseball season. Spring training will be here before we know it!!

Taking a break from skating at Steinberg with an old friend. (And Thomas, for the record, I was skating – I was NOT just going off your momentum!!)

Attending my first-ever St. Louis Blues Hockey game!! It was a great time despite the incident revolving around the spilling of the 32-ounce soda I had just purchased at the concession stand. I’m just so happy I bought the refillable cup!!

I can’t wait for this weekend to start! Today is my 22nd birthday and my mind is blown. It does not feel like I should be 22 yet. Tonight I am going to the blues game with some friends. Which as a birthday present to myself I bought Blues vs. Blackhawks tickets for October 9th. The blues are the reason why I started getting into hockey but I have to love my home town team a.k.a Chicago Blackhawks. Anyway, Saturday I am going to a family party because a family friend is coming to town this weekend. I am so excited. Then, on Sunday I am going to the Cardinals game. Yes, they are playing the Chicago Cubs and I dislike The Cubs very much. The Cubs and The Sox are the only Chicago teams that I do not like. Cardinals fan for life.

I hope all of you have a great weekend! I know I will.

I’m taking a break from writing about the Environmental Club this week to post some breaking news about my life. I just bought tickets to my very first Blues game! (And thanks to Fontbonne, they were only $8.)

Living in St. Louis my entire life, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to go to sporting events. And I have gone – multiple baseball games, an indoor soccer game (St. Louis Steamers, whaddup), and even a visit to see the beleaguered Rams (they used to be good, I swear). But so far, no hockey. It’s not that I’m personally opposed to it, it’s just that I don’t support the conditions it’s played in. Namely, on ice. I am not a fan of cold, snow, ice, hail, sleet, frost, winter, glaciers, icebergs, shivering, the Arctic, the North Pole, the South Pole, Siberia, Yeti, Iceland, etc. etc. But I digress.

So, it’s time to man up, and bundle up. This Thursday night I’m heading to that Blues game!
