Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog this week! I hope you all are enjoying this amazing (yet crazy) weather these past few days! I cannot believe that we are having 60 degree weather in the middle of winter…

Anyways… I am so excited for a bunch of different things this semester! This is my 4th semester living on campus, and I love living on campus! There’s always something happening every week on campus, and it makes going to events so much easier living within walking distance of anything on campus. I also love living on campus because I have met all of my favorite people from Fontbonne by living on campus!

I’m excited to meet all of the faces that are new to campus, whether that be transfer students or new staff members. I can’t wait to interact with them and then be able to see them often on campus!

I’m excited for so much more than just what I’ve listed, ¬†but that would take the entire page if I actually listed everything! Check back next week to see what I write about next!

peace out,

Morgan

It’s 7:30 AM. Wake up, get ready for the day, and walk out the door by 8:45 AM (regardless of what time my class starts: 9:30 or 10). Here is the reason why – TRAFFIC! For those that live on campus, it is a luxury that the campus is small. You have the ability to wake up 5-10 minutes before class. That is plenty of time for you. Us commuters…not so much. You see, it is 8:45 AM., people are on their way to work (which also happens to commence at 9 or 9:30 AM).

PSA to ALL COMMUTERS:

  1. AVOID 8 AM CLASSES AT ALL COSTS (if you can). Trust me, you think it is dreadful now, wait until 8 AM in the Winter. The roads will be in somewhat decent condition to drive in (if at all). If not, I am 100% certain that you will be late.
  2. If you plan to park your car on campus, GET TO CAMPUS EARLY! Parking spots are all filled by about 8:45 AM. Yes, the university constructed a second lot due to this issue, but the walk that you have to make is especially inconvenient if you are running late.
  3. Carpool with friends if you can.
  4. When you pull into the campus lot (oval lot between AB Hall, Ryan, Medaille, and the Fine Arts Building) – Always turn right and go around. I’ve seen people from time to time either turn left or people just driving on the opposite side of the lot. Do Not Do This.

Until next time guys, stay classy!

Fontbonne University was an easy choice for me to attend in the fall of 2015. I knew I wanted to go to a school that offered Fashion Merchandising and had a small community. Once I heard about Fontbonne from my college guidance coordinator at my high school, I knew I needed to go visit. I visited Fontbonne in the spring of 2014 and I fell in love with the campus, the school, and the community. I did look at a few other schools, but none of them had the same impact as FBU. I did not make my decision to attend Fontbonne University until the fall of 2014 when I came back for a second tour. The ambassadors did an excellent job of showcasing the campus and making me feel at home before I was even a student.

Once I filled out my application and received my acceptance letter, the excitement began to build. Senior year seemed to fly by and I began counting down the days until I was able to start the next part of my life. Although I was not sure if I was going to live on campus or not, my decisions to live at Fontbonne was one of the best choices I have made. The community of Fontbonne and the friends that I have made in these few short weeks have been outstanding. I encourage all students to look into living on campus if you are able to do so. The ability to wake up 10 minutes before class and spend every night with your friends is an experience that the Fontbonne Resident Halls have given me as a gift. I am currently the RHA Executive Board Secretary so that I can help be a voice for the students of FBU and continue to promote growth and make on-campus life the best it can be.

If you are a student looking for a campus where you can feel at home away from home in one of the cutest areas of Saint Louis, know a great deal of your classmates, and make friends from all over, come and take a look at Fontbonne and see if you should be a Griffin!

xoxo,

Claire
