Hello!

In this post, I would like to share about some music artists I heard this last Friday. I went to this small concert with a friend and even though we didn’t knew who was playing, we both ended up loving the bands. I have go before to this concert events, which are made by a music organization here in Saint Louis. One of the fun and interesting aspects about these concerts is that you don’t know who is playing till the day of the concert, it is always surprise, and it is so exciting! I really enjoy going to this concert, there were approximately 40 people and I could really appreciate the live music.

Three local bands performed in the concert, and I really like all of them. The first one was this girl called Hillary Fitz, which played songs with an Indie and Folk style. The second artist was Teszla, her music was very chill, electronic, and R&B, I think it was good mix of different styles. The third and last ones were Oskar and Julia, which were a married couple, and sang country music. I usually don’t hear country music, so it was cool hearing more about this music genre.

I love exploring local bands, they usually remain for a small target, but their music has always something different and original. This is something I have noticed in local bands back in my home country, Ecuador, and here in Saint Louis too. We all hear music from huge, very famous, and commercial artists, which is something amazing because they make great music. But, there is something special about local small bands that you don’t usually hear, for example, in radios or social media. This is why I really like going to small concerts, to give local music artists support, and let them know they have great talent too.

They are all on Spotify, if you are interested in listening them!!

Some pics I took 🙂

Hello everyone,

I hope you have had a great first week back on campus after spring break and you are all ready for the home stretch of the semester.  This week I am going to write about one of the many new albums being released in stores nationwide, as I am aware there are probably many albums to be excited about in the upcoming months.  Whether you are someone who listens to pop, country, Christian, Rock, or Hip Hop music, there are likely lots of artists who have new songs being released. One of my favorite types of music to listen to is Christian, in which there are many artists who are currently on tour sharing their music with fans all across the nation.  From one band to the next they always have new, inspirational music to share with people from all parts of the country and often times it is heard on K-Love radio stations in major cities.  A band I have grown to like a lot is called Mercyme in which they have a single they have released in the last month as a teaser to their album release.  Their most recent album was actually launched yesterday on the internet and in major retailers.  This new album is called lifer and there are many new great songs such as Even If, which is very relatable for many of their fans. This song is about going through battles in life and realizing that God is there by your side to help you get through it all and for believers to know that God will help you make it out of even your worst struggles. As a fan of this band, I am very excited to buy this album soon so that I can hear some of their other songs they have produced on this new album, Lifer. lifer-mercyme

Thanks for reading and come back next week to see what I have to tell about.

Noise

in Extracurricular

It has been  pouring rain here in STL, so that means no exploring the city, but  just really focusing on work. When I am working on either blog related things, school, or personal I have to have music on in the background. I love listening to music either while I am writing emails, writing, or just chilling, music helps me to focus and concentrate. My playlists are made up of  a random mix of sappy love songs, depressing songs, feel good music, and just some of my old favorites. I’m not much of a music guru, or a vinyl record collector, I actually like to listen to the same songs over and over again when I’m working (weird) but here’s a mix of my favorites – a little Ellie Goulding, Broods, John Legend, Adele, and sorry but I love J. Biebs. I also love love some classic Dad Rock, ya know the oldies? Also Amy Winehouse can do absolutely no wrong in my book, and LaLa Land is currently a favorite album to listen to! Music is something that I use to help me either concentrate or de-stress.  We all have de-stressing “secret weapons” that we pull out in times of tension or anxiety, whether they be photos that relax us or make us smile, music is one of my ways to de-stress. Whether it is having a great playlist to jam to in the car, dance to, or study to- music is much welcomed noise for me, some background hums is always enjoyed.

MTV SCREAM

by DeMarcus September 24, 2015

During the summer I watched the SCREAM series on MTV. We’ve all seen the movies when we were younger and frightened out of our minds….at least until a certain point, then it became comical. When I saw the commercials for the show I became intrigued to see how they would revamp the ghost face character. […]
