As the year is ending and summer is so close I can taste it! Only two exams, one presentation, and I am home free! This year has been a year full of learning and new experiences. From my first semester at a completely different college to ending my freshman year here at Fontbonne, it has most certainly been an interesting ride. I have grown a lot this year by figuring out what I really want to do with my life and the field of work I would like to end up in. This summer I am looking forward to sinking my teeth into a great new internship, taking a summer course, and of course spending some much needed time by the pool. I cannot wait to get some R&R after exams, but my summer to do list is quite lengthy and I cannot wait to get started. During the school year I never get to read as much as I would like to, summer is the perfect time to really get a hold of my reading list. My summer bucket list includes:

  1. Spontaneous road trips with friends!
  2. Become more of a religious yoga goer
  3. Redecorate and Reorganize
  4. Plan a brunch- hydrangeas and all
  5. COUNTRY CONCERTS- they are the best, even if you do not like country music the atmosphere is intoxicating! Get a group of friends together and go!!
  6. Leave my phone at home- I must be crazy but this summer I really want to try to leave my life source aka cell phone at home. If I am with my friends than I do not have to update anyone because they will all be there and if I run into an emergency I am positive someone in the group will have their phone.

This summer I want to detox and refocus to better prepare myself for next year. One semester down and many more to go, but I am so excited to continue this adventure here at Fontbonne!

Game of Thrones reference…geddit? 😉

So, with summer right around the corner, I’m feeling the need to create a list of all the things I want to do when we get hit with the full force of the St. Louis heat. I went for a really long walk around Forest Park today and it made me miss the sunshine…our winter wasn’t too bad, but it seemed quite long. I’m glad for the weather change, and it’s got me inspired!

I think the first five things I’m going to tackle when summer in the Lou hits are as follows:

(1) Cards game. This is a must. I need those totchos, and I love being at Busch Stadium, especially at night…it’s just such an electric atmosphere.
(2) Fitz’s. Handcrafted soda just sounds so much better in the summer.
(3) FLOAT TRIP. Need I say more?!
(4) Walking around Historic St. Charles with some Kilwin’s ice cream…it’s killer, and so is the river view.
(5) LAY OUT. It is time once again to soak up the sun. I can’t wait!

What are some of your plans for the summer??

xoxo

Hey guys!

It’s a testament to how insane grad school is that I haven’t written in a long time. I’ve been crazy busy with assignments, papers, projects, you name it! But thankfully, Easter break was restful, and I’m hoping I’ll be able to complete my third semester of grad school with a bang. Since I’m in the ISPP dietetic program, I’ll get a week off and then go straight into my internship – exciting!! I can’t wait! Meanwhile, my plans for that week include sleeping, sleeping, aaaaaaand probably lounging by the pool with a good book. What do you guys have going on this summer?

I hope you all had a restful Easter break and got to eat some delicious homemade food – and that the Easter Bunny visited you 😉 He came to my house and was quite generous with the chocolate and coins.

Keep moving forward and good luck with finals.

xoxo

by Patricia April 10, 2017

As you already know, I plan on doing the internship at Dillard’s this summer. After that I will either accept a job at Dillard’s, depending if I am offered one. My other option is grad school. The schools that I applied to are Wash U and Notre Dame. Notre Dame is located in Indianapolis. Last […]

In the future…

by Patricia August 8, 2016

I’m not sure it will happen this year, but I would like to go to Europe sometime. I have never been out of the country, the last time I was on an airplane was when I was 3. I would love to go to Italy, particularly Venice. It has water around the entire city and […]

Summer Get-A-Ways

by DeMarcus July 5, 2016

While we haven’t quite reached the summer solstice just yet, some friends from Room 316 and I have started to plan for next summer. We were watching “Gossip Girl” season 2 when Blair was returning back home to the Hamptons with her new boyfriend, while Chuck Bass was waiting for her with a bouquet of […]

Plans for this Summer

by Patricia May 10, 2016

As I have mentioned before, I do a lot of traveling in the summer. Between June 3-10 I will be going to Florida. We are renting a house on St.George island. The house has a pool and a room to sleep outside at night. I really enjoy the beach. I could spend all day riding […]

A Moment of Reflection

by Alumni Posts May 9, 2016

I am a Senior in college…  I am graduating on May 9th…  Am I sad or happy? All of these are things that I have had on my mind for the last few weeks.  As my time at Fontbonne comes to an end, it is time for me to reflect. What have I done… What […]

What Did I Want to Be?

by Alumni Posts May 3, 2016

When I was little I don’t even really remember what I wanted to be.  The last memory I have of wanting to be something was a teacher; that was when I was a freshman in high school.  I knew that I wanted to help kids learn; I liked the idea of teaching high school freshman […]
