Hello, fellow Griffins! My name is Jessica Ann Mitulski. I am a 19 year old freshman who commutes here four days of the week. I live in Ferguson, MO with my parents, and I earn my keep by cooking and cleaning for them. My hobbies include listening to music, watching cartoons, creating stories, drawing and baking.
I came to Fontbonne in hopes of putting my talent to good use by majoring in art. I have been drawing since I was a toddler. As a member of the autistic spectrum, I did not have the desire to use real words until I turned six years old. To make up for the lack of speech, I used my artwork to communicate for me. When I decided to speak, I kept my artistic talent and drew scenes and characters from stories in my head. I hope that I can continue to communicate through my artwork in the future.
My first year, so far, has been a blast. The classes are just the right size; I am not overwhelmed by peers. The teachers are laid back, kind and understanding. I will not lie, it is tough when it comes to assignments. It’s difficult to transition from filling out worksheets nightly to writing essays weekly. Right now, though, everything is chill. No stress, no mess, just me and my computer.
I hope that you are all in good health, and I will be looking forward to writing this blog!
My name is Whitney Vehige, and I am a junior at Fontbonne. I am majoring in speech/language pathology and minoring in psychology. I live about an hour out of St. Louis and commute to school. I chose Fontbonne for their excellent speech/language pathology program and have never regretted the decision. Even though I am busy with school and work (I am a nanny), I still make time for me. I love hanging out with my friends and reading a good book. Well, now that you know a little about me, I just want to wish everyone a happy school year, and I can’t wait to post my weekly blog for all of you all!
Hello! My name is Whitney, and this is my first blog, so I would like to introduce myself. I am a sophomore at Fontbonne and am studying speech-pathology. I am a commuter student, so even though I do not spend as much time around campus as many other students, I consider my college experience here fulfilling very so far! I love meeting the people at Fontbonne because they are all so amazing. I have met so many new friends and look forward to getting to know all of you as well!
When I am not attending class, I am a nanny/maid for a family of five. The kids keep me very busy, but I enjoy the experience and look forward to working with children in the future. As far as hobbies go, I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, and reading books. I am a very outgoing person who likes singing and dancing around with friends as well.
I am very excited to get to share my thoughts with you all and I hope that you have a very exciting and successful spring semester!
