Last weekend was Easter break, it was a good time for students because they got a one week break, and it was also a good time to think about how Jesus Christ died for us on the cross, then he was risen.

It was my first Easter here, and I joined the traditional Good Friday service and Easter Sunday service at Grace Church, St. Louis. I spent many times to think about Jesus’s death on Good Friday, and prayed with God. I like to spend time praying and studying the bible, which can let me be renewed by God.

Here is one of verses for celebrating the Easter Day. Take time to think about it:

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (1 Peter 1:3)

HAPPY EASTER!

We were always given Holy days off leading up to Easter, and we also had Easter Monday off. Having all of these breaks so close together are making me slightly lazy. It is time to snap out of it! I have still have about a month of school left, and that means a month of hard work and concentration. I think the library and I will soon become friends. I am happy to say that I have almost survived my first year of college. Surviving is half the battle! With that I will leave you with my favorite summer song! Enjoy

I feel like this year has gone by so fast. It feels weird looking out my window and seeing leaves on the trees and people out enjoying the weather. It feels like just yesterday it was Christmas break! And look, here we are getting ready to register for class for next year. I can’t believe how fast this semester is going. I almost wish I could freeze time for just a little while because I’m afraid I’m going to miss something.

I’m so excited though for the dedicated semester next fall: Foodology. I’m a psychology major and plan to specialize in health and wellness. Food has always been something I enjoy not only eating but learning about. Nutrition is just something that has always been interesting to me. I’m looking forward to taking some of the dedicated semester courses that are being offered next year, and I encourage everyone to do the same! Happy spring, everyone, and I hope you all have a wonderful Easter break.

It’s so weird to think that we just had our spring break a mere few weeks ago. Even so, I think I can speak for almost everyone when I say that Easter break will be another much-needed break. Despite the fact that I have loads of homework to complete and multiple tests to study for over Easter break, I’m glad that I’ll be able have at least some time to relax and unwind.

However, before I leave campus for Easter break, I’m going to go to Griffinstock. A lot of my close friends have planned it, and, according to them, it will be really cool. Lots of live bands and performers (including many from the Fontbonne community) will perform outside in the Meadow, and t-shirts and food will be for sale for college-student-friendly prices. I’m very excited to just hang out with everyone before we depart for the long weekend.

So, have a safe, fun-filled Easter, everyone. I’ll see you on Monday, when it’s time to hit the textbooks hard in order to finish up the semester on a high note.

Woohoo!!!! It’s almost Easter, and I am ready for it! I don’t know why, but this semester has been brutal for all parties involved. The few days of classes from which I will be free (which is really only one) will probably be devoted to homework. Don’t get me wrong, I will be spending time with my family. I think we’re having Easter at my house, and I am so excited to spend some much needed down time with my family. Even though we no longer hunt for Easter eggs on Easter, my family does get together for a big meal.

I start my day off by going to Church with my family and watching as the pews fill up. Then, depending on how much needs to be done before everybody starts filtering in, I might take a nap (we go to Mass at 7 a.m., what do you expect?). Then when everybody is there we filter through a buffet style line of food. The adults and “kids” (ages 18-24) sit and eat at different tables. Of course the kids’ table is more fun because that’s where I sit.

A perfect time to sit and reflect:
No motherland ever sought this height?
Our countryside lost, and gained respect
And set the “future lens” to a new sight.
Count back, look ahead 1970 for
Familiar history will ease her,
Come together, celebrate, cooperate, achieve
“Excuse me,” “thank you,” “please sir.”
Forgotten have we about our purpose
As people fight, collecting air,
Jesus died not to hurt us
Leaving all the world for his heir.
“Excuse me,” “thank you,” “please sir,”
Compromise will ease her
If love is now a teaser…?
Have a Happy Easter!

Then we would head home and my parents would have an Easter ham with all the trimmings. We would then have an Easter egg hunt at home and the eggs were filled with quarters and dollars. The youngest would get to start first, the oldest last. I loved counting the money from the eggs. We always had an Easter basket filled with all kinds of candies, and not only the usual Easter candies. We got Gummi Bears, Swedish Fish, Sweet Tarts, Skittles, in addition to all the chocolates.
Now, as I am an adult, and my grandparents are gone my family gets together on Easter usually for breakfast at Uncle Bill’s Pancake House. Then we also have our Easter dinner ham and fixings. Sometimes we will head over to visit with my Aunt. She has six kids and tons of grandkids. All the yelling, laughing and crying makes us remember when we all spent each holiday together when my grandparents were alive. What a joyous time! When I have my own children, I will plan on continuing this Easter tradition!

But, I do plan to take over the world with everyone at Fontbonne. Other than trying to rule the world, I plan on sitting back and relaxing. I am going to the final Blues hockey game at home, and if everything goes well, they will go to the playoffs! And if they go to the playoffs, then I will be going to the games! …But sorry for getting off track. I plan on working on Saturday and probably hanging out with friends in town. On Easter Sunday, I plan on going to church and eating a delicious breakfast with my whole family. I will go to 9 a.m. mass and after that, go to my Grandma’s. She makes the most delicious breakfast. It is almost as good as our Christmas breakfast. After eating our delicious breakfast, my grandma usually hides tootsie rolls or other type of candy around her house and we have to go find it. The whole family gets involved with it, if the younger kids cannot find everything, the grown ups usually come up and help. Every year, we always miss a couple then the following year, we end up with a couple extra one. It is always a lot fun and it’s a great day because I don’t have to work that entire day.

Easter has always been a staple in my family and usually its associated with my birthday in my mind, because we celebrate it on the same weekend. On Easter Sunday, the first step is church, where like most people, I am dressed in my finest and my newest Sunday dress clothes. This includes the dress, the ribbon wrist purse and some white shoes with the ruffle socks. Then we are on to visiting my Aunties and Uncles and then back home to eat. Most the time the children are summoned outside to run around like kids do, while the parents sit around talking and such. Oh what memories! Now-a days, Easter still holds some effect but now its just dressing up and eating dinner with a bunch of family folk. This may be due to the fact that many of my family members have different religious backgrounds but whatever the reason we all seem to put the differences aside when it came to eating our great family recipes.
