I recently found out that I am struggling with my grades in my major field. I talked to the department chair and he is helping me in finding out what it is that I’m struggling with. I went to both of my professors in my program. They are going to do their best to help me succeed. They advised me to go to the Kinkel Center and talk to the person in charge of accommodations.  We are currently trying to find out if I do have a learning disability. It feels great to know that the staff is willing to help me.

Wow, I’m more than half way done with my first year at Fontbonne. I plan on hanging out with my friends that are coming back into town. We normally play video games and meet up to do something fun, like seeing a movie. I also plan on helping my dad finish rebuilding our deck and build a fire pit.

I have learned a lot this semester. One is how to be more descriptive in poems. The most important thing is to turn my phone off during Dr. Moore’s class. In his class, if you phone goes off you either dance to the ringtone or bring in cookies. I haven’t had this happen yet, but a few classmates have.

When I was younger, I wanted to be an actor. A teacher named Mr. Facchin changed that. He inspired me to become an English teacher. What changed from wanting to be an actor to English teacher is that there is more demand for teachers and that I can pay it forward, by inspiring a future student to become a teacher.

This was the movie that was shown for Saturday’s movie night. I invited my brother, his girlfriend, Robert, and Nico to come up to watch this awesome movie. I enjoy these movie nights that Fontbonne hosts because I get to relax and have fun.

This semester I joined Fontbonne’s bowling league. My friends and I play for fun. I look forward to it every week to help make my Mondays better. Last night, my best friend Corie beat her high score of 199. She bowled a 207 game. Each week we all get better each game.

I love having a lot of choices for activities during a theme week. For example, last week was geek week. Each of the days had their own activities. Movies or TV shows were shown. On Harry Potter day, you could learn how to make a scarf. I love these type of weeks.

My favorite class this semester is Writing Poetry. I have Dr. Sommers teaching my class. The class is mixed with people who write poetry and those who don’t write poetry. I enjoy hearing other people’s work. I would recommend this class to anyone. Dr. Sommers will help you with everything. If you have a question that may seem silly to you, it won’t seem silly to him.

A surprise to me is how friendly everyone is here. I have met some interesting people. My floor mate Alex and I are becoming best friends, we are talking to each other a lot more than at the beginning of the year. I’m normally the shy guy, but the people here are just great to talk to. I’m becoming less shy here. I have a good group of friends here that are so friendly and talkative. Everyone at my last school just wanted class to be over so they could go home, but people here just stay and hang out with me.

Originally I was not going to vote, but something changed my mind. I think it was the fact that if I didn’t vote, I couldn’t complain. That feeling wouldn’t feel right in my opinion. I was educated on the candidates, so I knew who in my opinion could lead this country.  I voted for Obama.  He seemed to be doing a good job  in my view that is why I voted for him. This wasn’t my first Presidential election. My first one was back in 2008. I voted for Mike Huckabee in that election. He had great ideas that I liked. He wanted a small government, he is a Christian, and he had experience in a government office.
