I have been at Fontbonne for all 4 years of college. What I learned during my time is the importance of getting involved on campus. It is necessary to make friends, get work experience, and keep busy. Saturday was the award ceremony. I received a participation award for being a member of the student government. I was not expecting this and felt very accomplished when I received it. There were times when I did not feel like attending events for certain organizations. I even questioned why was apart of them. After this ceremony, I felt that all my hard work had paid off!
That wasn’t the end. The next day I attended the ODK annual banquet. If you were graduating that year, you were called up to the stage and received your cords to wear at graduation. I was also proud that I earned my place in ODK, and that I would get to wear these cords at graduation. I had done community service with this group. Again, all my hard work paid off! When I go to grad school, I will spend most of my time on campus and do what I did at Fontbonne.

I am really excited for this summer. We are going to Universal Studios. This year they have a waterpark called volcano bay. It has a giant volcano slide with wristbands that tell you when its your turn in line. They also added a King Kong ride which I will also go on. My favorite part of the park is the Harry Potter world. A few years ago they added 2 new roller coasters. One is Gringots Bank and I cant remember the other. You can buy a wand that lights up the windows and pretend you are doing magic. I see many people decked out in robes and gowns, its pretty neat. My second favorite part of the park is the Dr. Suess land. It has more relaxing rides, but is still fun. There is this train that goes into a Circus restaurant. We had lunch at the Circus restaurant and I got a red velvet cupcake. This year, I want to go to the new restaurant called chocolate emporium. I want to get one of their massive milkshakes.

I am prepping for the end of the semester by making sure that I have a plan after graduation. I have been doing this all semester. I was offered an internship at Dillards, so I will be doing that this summer. Last week I had an interview with WashU because I applied for their MBA program. I hope to enroll there this fall depending if I get accepted. I will find out on May 5. If I do not get accepted, I will try again next year. In the meantime, hopefully I will have a job at Dillards.
I will only have one final exam this semester, and I am studying for that class now so I don’t wait until the last minute. I am also helping a friend get a job this summer. She has had a difficult year as well as some health setbacks. Getting a summer job is good for her mental health and overall well being. I explained the importance of finding a job before the semester ends. Yesterday I helped her write a resume so that she can apply to a bunch of different places. I referred to her Dillard’s. I am hoping that they accept her even though she doesn’t have any work experience. It is important to start working before college so that it is easier to get other jobs. Anyway, I have plans after graduation, and I hope that she does when she graduates in a few years!

I had a good Easter. I went home on Thursday and we did our annual tradition of going to Sonic. I got a berry brownie master blast which is a concrete with strawberries, brownies, and waffle cone pieces. I got a medium and it was so filling. I had planned to exercise after, but I knew I would make myself sick. So I didn’t do it. On Saturday I decorated Easter eggs and made a bunny house out of sugar cookies! I found the recipe on food network and copied it exactly. They gave you the measurements for each wall and I traced it on a piece of paper. I then cut out the pieces on the cookie dough and baked them. I decorated it with icing, M&Ms, and marshmallows. I also had plastic bunnies! I posted it on Facebook and got a lot of reactions. It took 2 hours to decorate.
On Easter day we had a scavenger hunt. We had to find clues all over the house and we found gifts along the way. The end of the hunt led to our Easter baskets, which was filled with candy. Throughout the day we watched Star Wars. For dinner, we had lamb, like we always do. For dessert we had mango and raspberry frozen yogurt.
