Learn More, Be More, the motto of Fontbonne University, is an outstanding way to describe the community and atmosphere of Fontbonne.
As per the Fontbonne Website, “At Fontbonne, it means small classes where professors engage, challenge — and support — you. It means a focus on internships and other real-world opportunities that provide invaluable experience. And it means a student body that thinks of a college education as a view to the world.” This shows the idea that learning is key to a Fontbonne education, but this is not limited to the classroom.

Learning at Fontbonne is seen on the field, in the café and at all the jobs and places like the library and computer labs. Learn More leads to Being More because students, faculty, and staff put in time and effort to be more than simply students, faculty, and staff. For me, I am a student, work-study student, student blogger, Campus Ministry Leader, and many more things. Professors act as teachers, role models, mentors, and associates in their get list of roles. At Fontbonne, learning leads to being.

What I mean by this is that the learning in the classroom leads all people at Fontbonne to go out of their way to be a better friend, teacher, family member, worker, boss, etc. Students get to have hands on experience. With the SLP clinic, students can help people in the Fontbonne community while completing their degrees.

The main page of the Fontbonne website says, “Learn more. Be more.® isn’t just a slogan. It’s who we are. It’s what makes us different. Our values-based campus community promotes and embraces respect, compassion and service. We’re committed to providing a personalized educational experience that encourages you to explore your role in the world and how you can make it a better place. We believe that you can learn more and be more — in college, in a career and in life.”
Learn more. Be more.
XOXO,
Claire
