It’s been a while since my last post so here’s a little update to get back in the swing of things!
In late June, I attended the University of Missouri basketball camp as a coach.. Formerly, I was a participant in the camp, staying over night, playing games and learning from older coaches.. Being my third year as a coach, this camp continues to help me give young children the opportunities I was given as a child.. Most of which are the reasons why I was able to play at the collegiate level.. Often, people think their respective sport is “the best sport in the world..” For myself, it’s important to understand that less than 20% of these kids won’t even play at the high school level.. This is why I always try to implement things like teamwork and hard work while helping them mature as young athletes and as young adults.. My goal is to have each kid go home to their parents (after 4 long days of strictly basketball) and somehow say, I learned a lot and I made new friends! If those two things happen, I did my job!
Since then, I have enjoyed a little bit of everything! Rock climbing, stomach flu, sunburn and a great 4th of July!
