“One more day before the storm…at the barricade of freedom!”
For those of you who don’t recognize this line, it’s from one of my all time favorite musicals, “Les Miserables.” I will spare your time by not sharing the details of the three-hour-and-fifteen-minute show and by just saying that the show is great and that you need to put seeing it on your bucket list. I will, however, elaborate on why I think this quote is pertinent (which, in the end, you may find to be more boring than the detailed show summary, but oh well…)
We have just days left of school. Despite the fact that exams begin tomorrow (hence the application of “one more day before the storm”), we are just days away from an entire summer break (in other words, we’re “at the barricade of freedom”… and I’ll stop with the Les Miz quotes now before I make them sound any more cliché). Anyways, my point is that even though exam week always seems long and never ending, we are almost at our destination: summer break.
So hang in there, everyone, because “at the end of the day” we will finally be able to relax. (Sorry, I just HAD to add that quote – blame Schoenberg and Boublil for writing such a quotable musical!)
