It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

The Christmas decorations are up! They arrived gradually, with the bushes in front of Ryan Hall lit up with Christmas lights on Sunday, and then the Library was spruced up with some garland and a nativity scene by Wednesday. Now, there are Christmas trees inside our buildings with lights and ornaments (purple and gold, of course!), and the DSAC has garland and flashing Christmas lights outside! Even better, the Griffin Grill has a gas fireplace, and now that it’s wintertime, students can sit in comfy armchairs by the beautiful Christmas tree and the warm fire! Sounds great, doesn’t it? In short, as Johnny Mathis would say, “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!”

There’s a special Christmas event coming up on campus tomorrow: Christmas Around Campus. At 2 p.m., Fontbonne is having a fun run called the Reindeer Run in Forest Park, and the festivities on campus begin at 3. There will be horse and carriage rides, storytelling of the Nutcracker, birthday cake for Baby Jesus, and Christmas games!

I’ve never been to Christmas Around Campus before, but I think it’s going to be a lot of fun! I’m going to be very busy, though – I’m running in the Reindeer Run, helping out at the Math and Computer Science Club’s table, where we’ll be helping children write letters to Santa, and then I’ll be at the Fontbonne Liturgical Choir’s table, where I’ll be selling copies of our Christmas cd called “Christmas Blessings.” At 7, we’re having a candle-lit Advent Mass in the Doerr Chapel, which will be really cool.

Christmas Around Campus is going to be great, and the campus is decorated so beautifully! You should definitely come see it for yourself!
